Comets finish Palomar Thanksgiving tournament with perfect record

SAN MARCOS, CA (12/1/2019) – Men's basketball rounded out the Palomar Thanksgiving tournament with a 96-68 win over Orange Coast College.

The Comets started slowly but went off in the second half. At halftime, Jacob Durham had five rebounds and by the end of the game, he had 18, a new tournament record for most in a game. Durham also racked up 20 points for the Comets, earning his first double-double of his Comet career. Anthony Smith and Anthony Brewer both had 13 points while Antonio Green and Michael Brandon ended the night with 12.

As a team, the Comets shot 86.4 percent from the free-throw line and 44.7 percent in the field, their second-best of the season. The bench scored 50 points and the team had 44 points in the paint.

The Comets improve to 5-3 on the season. They will compete in the Grossmont Invitational this weekend and will face Moorpark College on Friday night at 5 p.m.
