Woodby shines as Comets fall to Long Beach, 87-81

LONG BEACH, CA (11/8/2019) – Palomar traveled to Long Beach and lost 89-81 on Friday night. Noah Woodby has been a standout so far and did not disappoint on Friday when he put up 28 points for the Comets and grabbed six rebounds. He was 8-18 in the field and 3-7 beyond the arc and a perfect 9-9 on free throws. Woodby is averaging 18.3 points per game.

Anthony Brewer had 17 points on the night and recorded seven steals. He was 6-15 on field goals, 1-3 on three-pointers and 4-5 on free throws. Jacob Durham was also I =n double-digits on scoring nailed four field goals and two free throws.

Palomar had 38 points in the paint and 14 fastbreak points. The bench put up 21. The Comets committed 12 turnovers and caused 21 on which they scored 20 points. The team shot 38.8 percent in the field and 27.8 beyond the arc. They also had 28 defensive rebounds and nine offensive for 37 total.

The Comets improve to 2-2 on the season. The men will back in action for their first home game on Nov. 29 when they face Cerritos before they host their annual Thanksgiving Tournament.
