Alumni Report: Football

SAN MARCOS, CA (12/2/2020) -- More than halfway through the 2020 football season, we're checking in on our football alumni who are currently playing at the next level.

After leaving Palomar, running back Damon Wigand transferred to Benedictine College in Kansas. Wigand has played in every game this season except for one. He enjoyed a strong start to the season when they played Clark. Wigand had 46 yards on 11 carries and had two receptions for 16 yards. He has totaled 166 rushing yards on 55 carries. The Ravens are currently 7-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

Record-breaking quarterback Rodney Thompson transferred to Northern Illinois University. He has played in one game so far this season for the Huskies. He was 1-2 that game with a 34-yard pass. He then had two rushes, one of which was a 13-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. The Huskies are currently 0-4 and are only playing their conference this season.

We're wishing our two former Comets the best of luck for the rest of the season!
