McKenna and Jones face off in Oklahoma
SAN MARCOS, CA (4/7/2021) – Two former Comet baseball players faced off last night. Conor McKenna (2016) and a senior for the University of Oklahoma (14-14) met Alec Jones (2020) of Oral Roberts University (12-16). The Sooners walked away winners 14-12.
McKenna, the second baseman for the Sooners, had two hits in four plate appearances, including a grand slam in the first inning. Jones, the catcher for the Golden Eagles homered in the seventh inning. That was his only hit of the game in four plate appearances. He scored two runs, was walked once and left on base twice.

McKenna has two grand slams on the season and is averaging a .283 batting average. He has 30 RBIs and 30 hits in 160 plate appearances this season. Jones has a .295 batting average. In 44 at-bats. He has 13 hits and eight RBIs. His first career home run was last night against the Sooners.
Oral Roberts will face Houston Baptist for their next series starting on Friday while Oklahoma will resume Big 12 play against Kansas.
