Comets bring the heat against Moorpark, face Mesa on Tuesday

SAN MARCOS, CA (4/20/2019) – Palomar defeated Moorpark in a nonconference matchup 12-5 on Saturday.

Hayden Hastings (3-4) had a three run home run in the first inning after Trevor Omahen (4-6) and Evan Ianniciello (2-2) batted in three runs collectively. Omahen had another RBI later in the inning.

 Adrian Collazo also had an RBI in the second inning. Omahen and Justin Folz (3-5) had an RBI each in the seventh inning and Matt Ornelia (1-1) batted in two runs.

Jake Moskowitz pitched four innings and had five strikeouts. He gave up six hits and three runs. Connor Zalewski pitched two innings and had one strikeout and gave up three hits and two runs. Parker Askergreen pitched one inning and had one strikeout. Closing the game was Andrew Reitmeyer who had two strikeouts and gave up two hits.

The Comets will face San Diego Mesa on Tuesday at home for the conference series finale with playoff implications on the line. First pitch is at 2 p.m.
