SANTA ANA (10-30-2018) – Visiting Palomar, ranked No. 5 among the state's community colleges, defeated No. 12-ranked Santa Ana College in business-like fashion 36-12 in a Southern California Wrestling Alliance Southwest Conference match on Tuesday night at Cook Gymnasium on the Santa Ana campus.
Coach Brody Barrios' Comets won the last seven bouts, four by decision and three others by forfeit, to break a 12-12 tie with the Dons after the night's first four matches.
On the evening, Palomar got a decision victories from Jessy Diaz over Christian Hernandez at 157 pounds, Mace Anderson over Luis Vargas at 165, Nathan Navida over Luis Cervantes at 174 and Oscar Solano over Mario Moz at 285 pounds.
The Comets' forfeit wins came from Miguel Diaz at 133 pounds, Raul Ortiz at 149, Isasac Guerrero at 184 and Kalani Sorensen at 197 pounds.
