Women's Basketball: Monica Todd and Vinessa Perryman Receive All-State Votes

Two Comets, Monica Todd and Vinessa Perryman, receive first and second team All-State Southern Region recognition after their impressive performances on the year.

Monica Todd, a Sophomore Guard from Mission Hills high school in San Marcos, receives first team All-State Southern Region as she ended the regular season leading the Comets in points per game with 15.4 scoring a total of 436 points making that 768 on her career here at Palomar. Todd's 436 points qualifies for 4^th best overall along with top 5 finishes in 9 other categories. She was 4^th in FG percentage (48.4), 3^rd in FG (182-376), 5^th in free throws (63-112), 2^nd in offensive rebounds (107), 3^rd in total rebounds (212), 5^th in rebounds per game (7.6), 2^nd in steals (78), 5^th in points per game (15.6), and 2^nd in points per 40 minutes (38.6). One of Todd's best games on the season came against Orange Coast College when the Comets were 8-0 at the time. Todd was able to put up 20 points, making all three of her 3-pointers, with 8 total rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals all in just 18 minutes of playing time.

Vinessa Perryman, a sophomore guard out of Valley Center, CA, is awarded 2^nd team All-State Southern Region after her first team All-Conference performance for the Comets. Perryman ranked top 5 in 5 categories and top 10 in another 6 categories overall. Her highest finishes were in free throw percentage taking 2^nd (73.8), 4^th in 3 point percentage (36.0), 3^rd in assists (102), 4^th in steals (55), and 4^th in blocks (14). Her other top 10 finishes came in field goals (107-266), 3 pointers (45-125), free throws (62-84), assist-to-turnover ratio (2.0), points (321), and points per forty minutes (25.9). Perryman's best game came against East Los Angeles where her 24 points led the Comets to an 85-78 win. Along wither her leading 24 points, Perryman paired that total with 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and a steal in her 43 minutes on the court.
