Women's Basketball Lights up the Scoreboard 86-31

Palomar College Comets Women's Basketball makes a statement after being ranked No.1 in the state. The Comets rout San Diego Mesa 86-31 in Friday Night's contest. Palomar looks to stay strong heading into this week as they face College of the Desert and Mira Costa.

Every Comet on the team had a shot attempt by the end of regulation, shooting 36.4% as a team and 21.3% from the 3 point line. Leading the Comets in scoring was Monica Todd off the bench with 21 points scored going 9-11 on the field. Todd and Thompson both earned a double-double on the night. Todd with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Thompson with 11 points and 12 rebounds. The Comets got their practice in tonight shooting 47 times from the 3 point line with only 10 falling.

Defensively the Comets totaled 18 steals and 68 rebounds really controlling the ball as Mesa was only able to come up with 28 rebounds on the night. The rebounds came both offensively and defensively as it was split 34 a piece creating a lot of scoring opportunities for the Comets. The Comets also only turned the ball over 8 times compared to Mesa's 21 which demonstrated their quality of ball control.

The Comets will be looking to have another great game on the road at the College of the Desert on Wednesday, 5:00pm, and finish up conference at home vs. Mira Costa Friday at 6:00pm.
