Men's Basketball wins 79-76

2-9-2018- The Palomar Comets Men's Basketball team holds off San Diego Miramar late with a 79-76 win on Miramar's home court. This conference win brings the Comets record above .500 to 14-13 and their conference record to an even 4-4.

Friday night's contest was claimed by the Comets with the Comets leading at the half and the end of regulation. The Comets offensively struggled with the 3, going 2/9 both drained by Anthony Brewer off the bench. As a team, the comets shot just below 50% at 49.2% making 82.6% of their free throws.

Leading the Comets offensively was Matt Meyers with 28 points going 9-15 from the field and 10-11 on free throws. Other scorers for the comets included Beeler (6), Harris (13), Coleman-Bell (14), Strong (2), Brewer (8), Chatman (6), and Sun (2). Beeler led the team in assists with 8.

Defensively, Meyers (12) and Harris (10), led the team in rebounds and Meyers also led the team in steals with 3.  Palomar had a hard time controlling the ball, turning it over 16 times in regulation.

The Comets look to improve their conference standing once more this upcoming week on Tuesday, 2-13-2018, versus Mira Costa.
