Comet Men's Season Record Leveled In Loss to Mt. San Jacinto

San Marcos— Following a hard-fought 77-69 loss to Mt. San Jacinto at The Dome on Feb. 8, Coach John O'Neill's Palomar College Men's Basketball Team is an even 13-13 on the year and 3-4 in PCAC Northern Division play.

In Wednesday's game, sophomore guard Jackson Strong scored a game-high 20 points, while sophomore center Matt Meyers added 16, sophomore forward LaVale Coleman 14 and sophomore forward Matt Beeler 12. Meyers also hauled down a team-high nine rebounds, followed by Coleman with eight. Meyers also led the Comets with five assists for the game.

On the season, Strong continues to pace Palomar in scoring with an average of 18.9 points per game, followed by Meyers at 17.3 and Coleman at 16.0. Meyers and Coleman are the top rebounders with per-game averages of 8.8 and 6.8 respectively, while freshman point-guard Anthony Brewer is pacing the team with an average of 3.6 assists per game.

The Comets continue PCAC Northern Division play at San Diego Miramar College on Feb. 9, followed by the season's final home game vs. Mira Costa on Feb. 13 and final game of the year at College of the Desert Feb. 15.
