Comets jump to second in state women's hoops poll

FRESNO (12-06-2018) -- Coach Leigh Marshall's Palomar women's basketball team has jumped to No. 2 in the California Community College Women's Basketball Coaches Association state rankings.

Sierra College (9-0) from Rocklin in Northern California is ranked No. 1 in California, followed by the Comets (10-0) at No. 2 following Palomar's third tournament championship of the season, in the Lady Charger Classic over the weekend at Cypress College.

College of the Sequoias (11-0) and Mt. San Jacinto are ranked third and fourth, respectively.

In the Southern California rankings, Palomar and Mt. San Jacinto (8-4) are ranked 1-2, respectively.

The Comets will have a huge match-up on Friday at Mt. SAC, which is ranked fifth in California. They'll return home to The Dome next Wednesday evening to play Long Beach City College in their final home game of the 2017 calendar year.
