Palomar's Lampkin named PCAC Women's Athlete of Week

SAN DIEG0 (11-01-2017) -- Palomar volleyball player Kiara Lampkin has been selected as Women's Athlete of the Week by the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference.

Lampkin, coach Karl Seiler's 5-foot-7 freshman outside hitter from Elsinore High School, had 14 kills and hit .591 last week as the visiting Comets swept San Bernardino Valley College 3-0 in a PCAC North Division match at the Wolverines' new gym. The set scores were 25-9, 25-16, 25-18.

Lampkin has 53 kills and a hitting percentage of .295 in Palomar's most recent four matches entering Wednesday evening's North Division match against Mt. San Jacinto at the Eagles' newly-renovated gym.

She shared the conference's AOTW award with San Bernardino Valley soccer player Karen Jacobs, the goals and points leader for a Wolverines team that leads the conference's North Division and is ranked No. 6 in the nation.
